Overview: This estate is scheduled for completion this October and offers a one of a kind opportunity for the successful candidate. The principal has a long term staff at all of his other locations and needs someone or couple to oversee, manage and actively monitor his extensive property in Panama.
Duties:
Oversee all construction projects and renovations as lead communication person
Manage and maintain timelines and scheduling for projects with vendors and subcontractors
Create reports to update principal on status of the property and projects
Set up and maintain systems in the estate and on the property to create efficiency
Work with principal’s assistant to coordinate all projects in conjunction with principal’s travel schedule
Must be able to hire and train employees who have no prior experience
Manage a household staff of 10 to 12 employees and another 10 to 20 grounds staff, mentoring them and creating a synergistic and successful team
Address each project with full analysis of cost, timeline and materials necessary; present in report for approval by principal
Analyze all costs incurred from utilities to supplies and determine if there can be changes made through “green” methods
Work with group of established vendors and subcontractors both locally and internationally
Hiring and selection of new vendors and subcontractors as needed
Supervise staff, establish/maintain a team environment
Skills required:
Prior estate management or boutique hotel management experience in an “off the beaten path” locale is a must
Must be bi-lingual and speak fluent Spanish and English
Computer literate
Experienced with AV, HVAC, satellite TV, household systems and more
Managed multiple staff members
Self –starter/Self-motivated
Imperative to be very resourceful and hands-on
Highly organized
Must have excellent mechanical aptitude
Must be able to envision the “big picture” and be able to motivate the staff accordingly to provide the desired level of service
Background in managing construction projects
Background and understanding in managing extensive grounds, irrigation, gardens and farm land
College degree is desired but believes that long term hands-on experience is extremely important
Experienced in tropical climates and the wear and tear caused on the buildings from extreme sun/heat and humidity
Execute extreme level of confidentiality
